Woman rushed to hospital as early morning M77 crash sparks rush hour delays

A woman has been rushed to hospital following an early morning crash on the M77.

Emergency crews scrambled to the Junction 1 northbound exit ramp for Dumbreck in Glasgow after the alarm was raised. The one vehicle accident happened at around 4.35am on Wednesday, September 7.

Ambulance crews attended and a woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently unknown.

The crash sparked rush hour delays as the exit ramp was quickly closed off by officers.

Shortly before 8am Traffic Scotland confirmed the road had reopened, with traffic still heavy on approach.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a one vehicle crash on the M77 Junction 1 northbound at around 4.25am on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

“Emergency services attended and a woman was taken to hospital.”
