Woman rushed to hospital as car ends up in a field in Garforth

An elderly woman was rushed to hospital after her car “came off the road” and ended in a field in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police said they were called at 10.34am today (Friday) following reports a Vauxhall Corsa had come off the road and ended up in a field in Selby Road.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital by land ambulance for treatment.

The force added her condition is not yet known but no other vehicle was involved.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “We received a call at 1034hrs this morning from a member of the public, reporting that a car had come off the road and ended in a field, on Selby Road near to Bluebell Avenue, Garforth.

"The car was a Vauxhall Corsa. No other vehicle was involved.

"An ambulance crew attended and the elderly female driver has been taken to hospital. Her condition is not yet known.”

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Air Ambulance said: “At 10.37 am we dispatched our Nostell aircraft to a road traffic collision on Selby Road in Garforth.

"Our Critical Care Team provided on-scene support and a female patient was taken to hospital by land ambulance for further treatment.”
