Woman rushed to hospital after police descended on her home dies

A woman who was taken from a house in Moston by emergency services wearing white suits and rushed to hospital has since died.

Paramedics and police descended on a property on Routledge Walk early on Monday morning.

The woman, in her fifties, was found with life threatening injuries.

The Manchester Evening News understands she was suffering from a serious infection to a leg wound.

The ambulance service staff and police officers going inside the property were all seen wearing full body haz-mat suits.

The M.E.N. was told this was for hygiene reasons.

Sadly, police confirmed that the woman died on Wednesday.

In a statement they said: "The woman who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries sadly passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday February 12, 2020.

"A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on Friday February 14, 2020."

A 48-year-old man initially arrested on suspicion of neglect has been bailed pending further enquiries, they said.

Crews from the  North West Ambulance Service’s incident response team as well as police crime scene investigators and forensics officers were among those who responded on Monday.
