Woman rushed to hospital after police car crashes near Scots petrol station

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a police car crashed near a Scots petrol station.

Cops swarmed the A916 in Kennoway, Fife, after the smash happened around 11.05am this morning.

The female driver was then taken to hospital but did not require treatment.

Shocking pictures showed the wheel of the patrol car knocked off as the vehicle was left badly damaged from the crash.

Investigations have now been launched into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.05am on Wednesday, 9 February, Road Policing Officers were called to a road crash involving a police car and another car on the A916 in Kennoway.

"A female driver was taken to hospital by Ambulance to be checked over.

"The police officer did not require hospital treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash.”
