Woman rushed to hospital after horror three-car crash on A9

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a horror three-car crash on the A9 this afternoon.

Emergency services scrambled to the busy Scots road at the B851 junction near Daviot, south of Inverness.

The alarm was raised at around 11.20am on Thursday, September 16.

Ambulance crews attended and a woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police closed the road for several hours following the crash.

It reopened over four hours later at around 3.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a three vehicle crash on the A9 near the B851 junction near Daviot.

"Emergency services are still at the scene.

"One woman was taken to hospital for treatment and the road reopened around 3.30pm."
