A woman has been rushed to hospital after a horror pile up on a Scots motorway.

Emergency services were called after a van and two cars crashed at junction two of the M74 in Glasgow around 12.50pm on Monday November 22.

The motorway was shut southbound, with long delays of 50 minutes for drivers while they are diverted elsewhere.

A woman driving one of the cars was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Her condition or the severity of her injuries are not known at this time.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 12.50 pm on Monday, 22 November, 2021, police were called to a three vehicle road crash - a van and two cars - southbound on the M74, J2.

"A female driver of one of the cars has been taken by ambulance to the QEUH.

“Traffic currently diverting off at J2-Approx 50 minute delay on the approach.”
