Woman rushed to hospital after horror crash with police-escorted vehicle on A96

A woman was rushed to hospital after her car collided with a load being escorted by two police cars.

The female driver was seriously injured in the accident that happened on the A96, near Keith, in Aberdeenshire, this afternoon.

Her condition is not known at this time.

Police have since confirmed the wide load was being given an escort at the time of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We attended a crash on the A96 near Keith which happened around 12.55pm on Thursday, 17 December involving a car and a wide load.

“The female driver of the car was taken to hospital and the road was reopened by 1.50pm.”
