Woman rushed to hospital after being struck by car in southside of Glasgow

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car this afternoon.

Police were called to Titwood Road in the southside of the city around 3pm amid reports of a female being struck by a vehicle.

Emergency services attended the scene, close to the Morrisons supermarket at Crossmyloof, and took the woman to hospital.

A Police spokeswoman told Glasgow Live : "Police received a report of a female having been struck by a vehicle at 3pm this afternoon on Titwood Road. The person has been taken to hospital and officers are currently dealing with the incident."

Eyewitness reports suggest that officers have closed off the surrounding roads and are currently redirecting traffic - with a single vehicle inside a police cordon.
