A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a gun shot in Co Derry.
Police say the victim, 61, was shot at a house in the Bushmills Road area of Coleraine.
It is understood just before midnight on October 5 a number of shots were fired at the front of a property on the Bushmills Road in Coleraine when the woman was struck.
The PSNI issued an update just after 1am this morning [Tuesday] to say they are at the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital where her condition this morning is described as critical, police say.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Detectives in Coleraine are working to establish a motive for this attack and to identify those responsible.
"Anyone who was in the area last night and who noticed anything that could assist the investigation, or anyone with any other information is asked to contact CID in Coleraine by calling 101, quoting reference 2174 05/10/20."

Sinn Féin's Caoimhe Archibald condemned those responsible for the gun attack.
The East Derry MLA said: “No one wants to see reckless and very dangerous incidents like this in Coleraine.
“I have spoken to the PSNI about this incident this morning.
“Those responsible have nothing to offer society and need to be taken off the streets and anyone with information on what happened should bring it forward to the PSNI.”
