Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car outside Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow

A woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car outside a Glasgow shopping centre last night.

Emergency services raced to the scene after the 52-year-old was struck by the vehicle on Peat Road near Silverburn at around 7.20pm.

Ambulance crews attended and the lady was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Police have launched a probe into the incident and they have asked any witnesses to come forward.

A Police Scotland: "We were made aware around 7.20pm on Wednesday, 10 March of a 52-year-old woman found injured on Peat Road in Glasgow having been struck by a vehicle.

"She has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries and enquiries are ongoing.

"The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident can call 101, quoting incident 2918 of March 10."
