Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car outside pub in Glasgow's Southside

A woman has been hospitalised after being hit by a car outside a popular pub in Glasgow's southside.

Police and ambulance rushed to the junction of Pollokshaws Road and Minard Street around 6pm tonight following reports of a road traffic collision.

The incident is said to have taken place next to the Butterfly and the Pig bar and Shed nightclub .

The female was taken to hospital, but the severity of her injuries is not known at this time.

An eyewitness told how a sizeable cordon had been put up around a silver car immediately outside the club and pub.

Traffic in the area has been described as a "nightmare" with social media users saying it has "slowed considerably".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving a car and a female pedestrian at the junction of Pollokshaws Road and Minard Street around 6pm.

"Ambulance teams were also in attendance and the woman was taken to hospital."
