Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Wigan

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Wigan.

The crash happened on Preston Road in Standish at around 1.30pm today (January 7).

Police say the incident involved a pedestrian and a car.

The pedestrian – a woman – was taken to hospital following the crash.

Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Enquiries are currently ongoing, a spokesman for GMP confirmed.

In a statement, the force said: “Police were called at 1.30pm today (7 January) to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Preston Road, Standish.

“The female victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. Enquiries are ongoing."
