Woman in 30s rushed to hospital after being gunned down in west London street

A woman in her 30s has been rushed to hospital after a shooting in West London.

The victim was gunned down shortly before midnight in Maida Vale.

No one has been arrested, a Met Police spokesman said this morning.

Footage from the scene, on the busy Harrow Road in Westminster, shows a large number of police officers responding to the incident.

It is not yet known how seriously the victim was injured.

In a statement police said: "A woman aged in her 30s was shot at around 11.50pm in Harrow Rd near junction with Ashmore Rd. 

"She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital."

A cordon has been put in place as forensics officers investigate the shooting.

No arrests have yet been made following the shooting (CrimeLdn /Twitter)

Police said they were unable to provide details about the woman's condition.

In a post on Twitter, the Met Police called on witnesses to call 101, quoting reference 8710/11Sep.
