Woman rushed to hospital after being found injured on street in Glasgow's east end

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being found lying injured on a street in the Gallowgate area.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene on David Street around 1:45pm this afternoon close to the Blue Lagoon chip shop.

The woman was then taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Her present condition is unknown.

Police enquires are ongoing to establish how she came about her injuries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 1:45pm police and emergency serves were called after a woman was found injured on David Street in the Gallowgate.

"She was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

"Enquires are ongoing to find out how she established her injuries."
