A woman was rushed to hospital after being cut from a flipped over car on a busy road in Stalybridge on Sunday night (October 2). Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash, which involved two vehicles, on Wakefield Road (A635).
The road was temporarily closed for an hour as the scene was made safe. One of the vehicles involved had flipped onto its side, trapping a woman inside.
Firefighters secured the vehicle and gained access, where a trauma technician assessed the woman. She was then cut from the car with specialist rescue equipment and taken to hospital by paramedics. Police said her injuries were not believed to be serious.

Both cars involved were later taken away from the scene. Emergency services were in attendance for around an hour on Sunday evening, until around 9pm.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 7.30pm this evening (Sunday 2 October) we received a report about a road traffic collision on Wakefield Road, Stalybridge, involving two vehicles, one of which was resting on its side.
“Two fire engines from Ashton and Stalybridge fire stations were quickly in attendance, joined by the Technical Response Unit from Ashton. Firefighters secured the vehicle on its side and gained access to allow a GMFRS trauma technician to assess one woman trapped within the vehicle.
"Crews then used rescue equipment to extricate the woman and transfer her into the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service, who took her to hospital. GMFRS crews worked alongside Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe and were in attendance for around an hour.”
A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 7:30pm on Sunday 2 October 2022, we were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Wakefield Road, Stalybridge. Emergency services attended the scene where no serious injuries were reported."
