Woman robbed at St Enoch Square cashpoint in Glasgow in 'terrifying' ordeal

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman was subjected to a “terrifying” attempted robbery in Glasgow.

The 62-year-old victim was using an ATM in St Enoch Square in the city centre when she was was approached by another woman who demanded she hand over the cash.

The incident occurred this morning around 8am and police are now searching for the suspect.

She is described as white and slim build. She was wearing a blue coloured North Face jacket with a black hood, light blue jeans and red trainers with white soles.

Constable Bryan Evans, from Greater Glasgow CID, said: "Although the victim was not injured, this was a terrifying experience for her.

"I'm appealing to anyone who may have been in the St Enoch square area around the time of the incident and may have noticed anyone matching the suspect's description to please contact police."
