Woman robbed at knifepoint as she waited for a bus

A woman was threatened at knifepoint during a terrifying robbery while she waited for a bus.

Police are now hunting the knifeman after the 31-year-old victim's horrific ordeal.

The woman had her handbag and mobile phone taken during the robbery at the bus stop in Great Sutton .

Detectives say the victim was left understandably shaken as a result of the frightening incident on Tuesday night.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said they were called to Thelwall Road just before 9.30pm.

A witness appeal has now been launched in a bid to trace the robber who ran off in the direction of The Boulevard towards Sutton Way.

A spokesman said: "Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting IML 472119 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
