Woman reunited with Cockapoo who went missing for days after being hit by car in Stockport

A 10-month-old Cockapoo who went missing in Stockport over Christmas has been reunited with his owner.

Ted went missing from Hall Street on December 22, CheshireLive reports.

The Red Fox-coloured Cockapoo, from Macclesfield, was staying with his owner's grandparents when he slipped his lead and ran off before being hit by a car.

An appeal to help find him was then put out by Beth Loftus, Ted's owner.

She said she believed he had been unharmed by the car, but had run away.

Thankfully, on Boxing Day, Beth received a number of calls from people who had spotted Ted and, after a trip to Stockport, she was finally reunited with her beloved dog.

She said: "He was found on Boxing Day. We were getting quite a few sightings that day from around the Hazel Grove area.

"We got quite a few in the morning and then they died down. We didn't hear anything for a couple of hours, then we got a few more calls around the Racecourse Estate in Hazel Grove.

"But luckily nobody was trying to chase after him or get him, so we managed to get there in time. It was on Monarch Close, and the lady who was keeping an eye on him for us just said he's just gone down there on Monarch Close.

"So I got out of the car and started walking down and he just ran across in front of me, so I just called his name and when he saw me he ran straight up to me."

Ted was taken home, given food and water and and then had a trip to the vet for a check up who confirmed everything was OK.

Beth said that her other dog, Dougie, a three-year-old German Shepherd crossed with a Golden Retriever, wasn't eating whilst Ted was away.

She said: "I think it really hit Dougie quite hard because Ted is his little best mate.

"He wasn't even eating and was really down, but since we've got him back it's just been really really good and Dougie even keeps saving Ted some of his food in his bowl as well.

"But me and my Mum are just so grateful to everyone who got involved and even just sharing the posts, praying for him.

"Everyone's support has just been so amazing, and we're just so grateful for every bit of help we've received."
