It doesn't take long for a new pair of white trainers to start looking worse for wear.
Often scrubbing them only spreads the dirt further and it can feel like they will never be restored to the bright white colour they used to be.
Thankfully, one woman who reached out for help in getting her pair of Converse trainers gleaming again has shared before and after pictures to show it was possible to achieve, as reported by the Daily Star.
The member of the Cleaning Tips & Tricks Facebook group, which boasts almost 200,000 fans, posted a picture of the grubby Converses, writing: "Morning guys, any advice to get these looking nice and clean again please!"
Many others encouraged her to ditch the cleaning products and elbow grease, and to simply throw them in the washing machine instead.

Despite being sceptical to take the advice at first after her husband said it would damage them, she began by scrubbing them with a toothbrush using Fairy washing up liquid.
She said: "People said use CIF/toothpaste and other things also worked but Fairy never lets me down.
"I then stuck them in a pillow case, put a dishwasher tablet in the drum, set my machine on outdoor wash on 30."
The quick spin combined with a dishwasher tablet did the trick and her trainers were left sparkling again, before being left out all day to dry in the sun.
Others said The Pink Paste, championed by cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, achieved similar results, with one replying to the post to say: "The Pink Stuff, hot water and a toothbrush. Partner has just done both ours today with it and they came up brand new."
Another suggested treating them with bleach before throwing them in the machine, and one even said using a pressure washer to blast out the grime does the trick.
The owner of the trainers was delighted with the method she followed, adding: "They look like new."
