Woman rescued from River Aire by West Yorkshire Fire Service

A woman was pulled from the River Aire during a Fire Service rescue in Leeds city centre on Monday morning (10/06).

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called at 11:18am to reports of a woman in the River Aire by the Crown Point Bridge in Leeds city centre, close to Leeds Dock and Royal Armouries.

Specialist water rescue crews from Leeds, Hunslet and Rothwell stations responded to the call, and the women was safely extracted from the water by 11:53am.

Once the woman had been safely removed from the water all three crews were able to leave the scene by 12:25pm.

An update on the woman's condition has not been provided at this stage.
