Woman rescued after car crashes and lands on its roof in Ramsbottom

A woman was rescued from a crashed car stuck on its roof in Ramsbottom.

A crash involving two cars happened near the junction of Heatherside Road and Ramsbottom Lane on Tuesday evening.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 8.26pm to free a woman trapped inside the vehicle on its roof.

North West Ambulance Service then took over the casualty's care.

Ramsbottom Lane and Stubbins Lane has been closed while the emergency services attend the crash.

It is not known whether there are other casualties.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at 8.26pm.

"One car was on its roof and one adult female was trapped inside.

"We removed her from the car and she was then in the care of North West Ambulance Service."

Fire crews were preparing to leave the crash scene at around 9.45pm.
