Woman releases pictures after she was viciously mauled by dog as she walked on Donabate beach

A Dublin resident has warned dog owners and walkers to keep their pets on leads and close to them while in public after she was attacked on Sunday afternoon.

Evelina Kamiskiene was walking on Donabate beach at around 3pm when she came across a couple of people walking dogs.

Seconds later, she was viciously mauled by one of the hounds who bit her in the leg from behind.

She told Dublin Live: "I'm not sure what type of dogs they were but they were big and brown in colour."

"It was a couple that was walking them, a man and a woman, they had two big dogs and five smaller dogs. The dog that bit me was not on a lead.

"I'm not sure if they were the owners of the dogs or just walking them

"One of the dogs came up to me and barked at me but I smiled and kept walking.

"Then, the other big dog bit me from behind as I had passed."

"She just smiled and said 'you okay?' and I said 'no, not really' but they kept walking.

"I walked away to the car, it was sore but I had no idea that it was that bad."

She added: "I checked my sore at home because I know if a dog is aggressive and he feels blood, he can attack again.

"Then, I made an appointment with my GP and he gave me an injection.

"I just want to warn walkers and dog owners and the public in general.
