Woman released under investigation after ‘unexplained’ Bristol death

A woman, arrested after a woman died suddenly in St George, has been released under investigation.

Police were called to a property in Plummers Hill on Tuesday (April 6), following the sudden death of a woman in her 40s.

They arrived at the property just before 10.30pm.

A woman in her 20s was arrested following the incident - which is still being treated as unexplained - and has since been released under investigation.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “The arrested woman has been released under investigation and enquires are ongoing.

“Her death is still being treated as unexplained while we wait for a post mortem examination to take place.”

It comes after specialist forensic teams investigated the property on Wednesday (April 7).

Speaking on Wednesday, a local resident, who wished not to be named, said: "Police have been here all day, they went into the house, some of them in a white forensic looking suit and came back out again.

"They've been door-knocking around here trying to find out information and a detective spoke to us."
