Woman released after being arrested in connection with murder of Dublin man John Gibson

A woman who was arrested in connection with the murder of a low level drug dealer was released without charge on Wednesday night.

The woman, 23, was arrested on Tuesday in relation to the death of John Gibson who was gunned down on September 18, 2017.

The fitness instructor was blasted as he left a fitness club in West Dublin. Two men remain in garda custody in connection with the investigation.

A garda spokesperson said: "A 23 year old woman arrested on 26th March 2019 as part of the investigation into the murder of John Gibson, has been released without charge.

"She was detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. 

"A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Two men remain in custody."

He was shot multiple times, including three times to the head, during the shooting near the Eddie Rockets in Citywest Shopping Centre.
