Woman realises her initials spell out 'something rude' when boss points it out

When naming a child, it's hoped that people take into consideration things like pronunciation, initial combinations and anything else surrounding how the name might be perceived.

But one woman's parents obviously skipped this discussion, as she has been left dumbfounded after someone told her that her initials spelled out "something rude".

Worse, it took her 21 years to realise - and it was her boss that made the discovery, the Mirror reports.

She had no idea that her name Rebecca Charlotte had rude initials until she was 21, and it was pointed out that her initials were R.C, which obviously sound like a***y. In a TikTok video responding to: "Your mum had nine months to think of your name and she named you…" she recounted her story.

She said: "Rebecca Charlotte. R.C. And I didn't realise until my boss pointed it out to me at age 21. A***y."

She looked unimpressed as she told the tale, but it was clear to see that she could laugh about it now - as did most of the commenters.

One person wrote: "It could be worse, my dad's friend was called Ralph Charles Bottom. My dad was always amazed he used his middle name at work!"

Another sympathised with the name, commenting: "I’m H E C, oh heck!"

Someone else had the exact same initials, writing: "I'm the same! Except Rebecca Christine."

One TikToker shared some hilarious names as they said: "I worked with a Scottish guy who went to school with twins: Arthur and Peter Ness. A Ness and P Ness."

"I’m 27 and you’ve just given me a shocking revelation about my name! Thank you", someone commented, followed by a crying with laughter face.

Another wrote: "I’m Ruth Catherine and I was married and had a C surname too. My family used to say a***y by name and nature", followed by an eye roll emoji.

"My initials are PE so I was Physical Education all through school", one raged.

"Ok but hear me out, Penelope Hart aka PHart", another waded in.

The TikTok led some others to revelations too, with one mum writing: "My daughter is Ruby Carol and this hasn’t even dawned on me till today haha!"
