VISAKHAPATNAM: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two men near Thotoguruvu area in Arilova police station limits in Vizag city. The incident took place on Saturday night.
The victim works as service girl at marriage events while her husband is a cab driver. On Saturday night, the woman attended a marriage at Simhachalam in Vizag city. After the event, she reached Isukathota area around 11 pm and waited for an auto-rickshaw to reach her home.
Meanwhile, two persons - B Venu, who is a friend of the woman’s husband, and Venu’s friend Shyam approached her and offered lift in their motorcycle. Though she refused the offer because both were under the influence of alcohol, they beat and abducted her. The duo took her to an isolated place near Arilova and raped her.
Based on a complaint from the victim, Arilova police registered a case and nabbed the accused.
