Woman raped in terrifying lunchtime Glasgow city centre attack

A woman has been raped in Glasgow city centre in an afternoon assault.

The 29-year-old was attacked on Scott Street near Sauchiehall Street, usually one of the city's busiest streets, around noon yesterday.

Officers have now launched an investigation into the horror incident and are now appealing for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a serious sexual assault of a 29-year-old woman on Scott Street, near Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

"The incident happened around 12pm on Wednesday, 24 June, 2020.

"Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
