Woman punched and robbed of her bike in 'distressing' Queens Park attack

A woman was punched and robbed of her bike in Queens Park.

The 32-year-old was cycling along Queens Drive, near to Niddrie Square, around 12.30am on Sunday when she was approached.

The man tried to steal her bike and a struggled ensued during which she was punched by the man who then made off on the bike towards Pollokshaws Road.

Luckily, the victim didn't need hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as Asian in appearance, early 30s, 5 ft 9 in height and of medium build.

He had dark hair, was clean shaven and was wearing dark clothing.

The bike is a road bike, blue and white, and has the wording ‘MERIDA’ on the frame.



Constable Jamie Whitton, Community Investigation Unit, Govan Police Station, said: “Although the woman did not need to go to hospital, this robbery was very distressing for her. “
