A woman accused of stabbing her friend and leaving her with several puncture wounds after calling her a witch has pleaded not guilty to intentionally wounding and aggravated robbery.
Kaylah Louise Maxine Cook appeared via phone in the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday when her lawyer entered those pleas on her behalf.
A prosecution document tendered on a previous occasion states that Cook, 28, arrived at her friend's Lyneham home around 6pm on December 21 when she asked to stay overnight because she had not slept in three days and was feeling paranoid.
She then paced around the house for hours in the early hours of the next day before being told to leave because she was making too much noise.
Cook, whose listed residence in the court document is in Western Sydney, left around 5am before returning four hours later, allegedly holding a "wheel brace in one hand and a [purple] knife ... in the other".
She accused her friend of stealing money then "repeatedly [called] her a witch" before allegedly using the knife to stab her friend on her left shoulder and fingers.
The friend was left seeing "blood dripping down her arm", the court document states.
She then ran outside screaming for help and later realised her wallet, which contained $200 in cash, her $800 Prada prescription glasses and her black Samsung mobile phone had gone missing.
Cook was granted bail earlier in April for one day to attend a funeral after Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker said the court had been "yet again put in a difficult position" because ACT Corrective Services had not processed the defendant's application for leave.
Her matter is scheduled for return on May 26
