Woman perfectly covers every part of Bohemian Rhapsody using folding mirror

The iconic Bohemian Rhapsody is a song that has been covered and mimed to countless times on the internet.

If you're going to attempt to come up with an original way of working the Queen classic, you're going to need to produce something pretty special - and for one woman it turns out all she needed was her grandparent's three-part mirror from the 70s.

Shelbi Cornelison, who lives in New York, is a self-proclaimed music fan who combines the passion with her TikTok account @notlikethecar to film funny videos, including lip-syncing to her favourite songs.

After a clip where Shelbi used the folding wall mirror to record a video of 'Need You Now' by Lady Antebellum proved to be a hit, she knew she had to top it.

“The reaction to that was amazing so I thought ‘how can I step this up?'", she said. "And of course, one of the most iconic songs we have, Bohemian Rhapsody, came to mind.

“The harmonies and constant vocal shifts were perfect for this."

Carefully balancing her phone on the bathroom towel rack, she positioned the camera to cleverly capture all three angles of the mirror.

It took half an hour to film, with the theatre student having to start again if she messed up as it all needed to be recorded in one take.

Shelbi has now covered other songs using the same method (@notlikethecar/ Jam Press)

Shelbi perfectly times the folding in and out of the mirror's different sections to switch from solo singing to group harmonies, with her efforts racking up more than 10 million well-deserved views.

The Marymount Manhattan College student said: "The entire thing is taken in one take - no editing - so if I messed up early on, I’d just stop and start over.

"I'm not sure the exact number of takes - the camera was constantly running though so I got a ton of outtakes and was able to make a pretty funny blooper real.

"My phone was set up on the towel rack on the wall. There was a second phone on the sink that was playing the music.

"But there weren't any other mirrors or anything to see myself in. I could kind of see what the angles looked like on my phone, because I filmed with the front facing camera, but it's very minimal.

“Most of it is just knowing how far to pull the mirrors. I'll test it before I film and see about where the mirrors need to be pulled to. It looks a lot different from my point of view than the cameras.

"Sometimes my face looks half cut off in the mirrors, but on the camera the angle is captured perfectly. It's a bunch of trial and error.”

It proved to be a viral success with one writing: “The best part is, you know Freddie would have loved this."

Another added: "So brilliant. Gonna get me a three part mirror."

A third wrote: "Now that's pretty dam cool. Great job, love it."
