Woman pays friend to make birthday cake - but it looks nothing like what she ordered

It's always nice to support small businesses and shop local, but one woman who recently tried to do that was left a little disappointed by what she got.

A TikTok user named Lily Davies, claims to have asked her friend who runs a baking business to make a birthday cake for her sister.

She says she paid her £15 to make the cake and was hoping to get a pastel pink cake shaped to look like a cute little pig, with a curly tail and everything.

However, the birthday cake that arrived on the day looked nothing like she'd hoped it would.

This is what she ordered (lilydavies.2/TIKTOK)

Instead she received a cake with very messy pink icing and some pink and purple Smarties arranged on top to look like a face.

Two chocolate bars were stuck either side of the cake as arms.

Lily said: "I asked my friend to bake a cake for my sister's birthday.

"I can't. Paid £15 for this."

Her video quickly went viral, garnering more than one million views and over 143,000 likes.

But this is what she got (lilydavies.2/TIKTOK)

One person replied: "I wouldn't take it if it was free. Horrific that!!!"

Another wrote: "Perfect example of 'you get what you pay for'. If she's starting new then it's not awful, but it definitely could've been better."

A third added: "A someone who makes cakes for friends, I would never give them this. I'm not a professional, but just no never."

"I'd be embarrassed to even hand that over," admitted someone else.

Others thought the woman was being unfair to her friend, as she hadn't paid all that much for the cake anyway.

"You're lucky you got that for £15," added a different user.
