A woman took to Facebook after a touching gesture by an anonymous mum.
Cameron Leigh Phillips said she was about to pay for her son's third birthday cake when she found the cost had been covered.
Staff at Harps Foods in Arkansas told her a woman had visited the counter and asked them to choose a pre-ordered cake that she would pay for.
They said that the grieving mother comes in each year and makes the same request - in order to pay tribute to her son Drew on his birthday.
She had left a card, which Cameron shared on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.
The card, written on the 22nd of April, said: "Today is my son's 37th birthday, his 6th one in Heaven.
"In memory of him, I paid for your cake. Please enjoy, make wonderful memories and hug your baby tight (no matter how old he is!)
"Love, Drew's mom."
Mum Cameron said it was one of the most touching things she'd seen, and thanked the stranger for their kind gift.
"Y’all...I went to pick up Ridges cake today at Harps," Cameron wrote on Facebook.
"They handed me my cake and proceeded to tell me that the cake was paid for and a lady comes in every year and tells them to choose a cake for her to pay for.
"I don’t know who ‘Drew’s mom’ is, but she is such a kind soul. This truly made my day and makes me appreciate my babies more today!
"Thank you ‘Drew’s Mom’ for the kind gesture and for opening my eyes a little more today."
Her post went viral, as thousands of people shared the kind gesture.
One wrote: "How lovely, she is in pain but giving love to others."
Another said: "I think Drew was a very lucky man to have such an amazing lady he could call Mom.
"I was the same. My Mom has gone 6 years also and also would give her last. Mom’s really are a blessing!"
A third added: "Wow that’s an awesome way to keep a memory of a family member present. Happy heavenly birthday to Drew and Happy Birthday to Ridge too!"
