Woman paid for rods to be shoved down huskies' throat to stop them barking

A dog owner paid for rods to be plunged into her pet dogs' vocal cords to stop it barking.

Anne Beiler, 47, hired vet Denise Felling to complete the vile task because she was sick of the noise made by her two pet huskies.

The woman, from Pennsylvania, has now been barred from keeping animals after the vicious cruelty was uncovered by animal welfare officers.

The illegal procedure was undertaken in a filthy outbuilding at Beiler's home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Her two Doberman Pinschers were also savagely "debarked" by someone else.

The dog owner's cruelty was uncovered after the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals workers seized 15 dogs from Beiler's farm in May 2018.

Someone concerned for the dog's welfare had alerted the animal welfare officers.

A further nine puppies were found to have had their tails improperly docker - with rubber bands wound tightly around them.

Beiler pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges and was sentenced to two years’ probation.

She was also ordered to surrender all of the dogs she owns, bar one.

Beiler has furthermore been banned from working with or looking after dogs during her probation.

According to Lancaster Online, vet Felling admitted to four counts of debarking dogs, including Beiler's husky at neighbouring homes.

She was sentenced to 23 months' in jail, but was released immediately because of time served behind bars whilst awaiting trial.
