Woman outraged after takeaway arrives 20 hours after being ordered

A woman has shared her outrage after an Indian takeaway allegedly arrived at her door 20 hours after placing the order.

Ruth Anderton shared her astonishing wait time on a review site, having placed an order at Sangam Balti House for three items on February 20.

Ruth revealed how her order was placed at the Preston restaurant at 10.06pm, costing £23.50 with a discount and no charge for delivery, Lancs Live writes.

Her order then showed up around 20 hours later, she states.

Ruth says the takeaway told her that it does not accept orders after 10pm, despite hers being accepted.

The order consisted of one meat thaly - a sharing meal for three - regular chips and one bottle of Coca Cola and was accepted as an order by Sangam Balti House in Lostock Hall.

The order receipt said Ruth's food should have arrived just after 11pm on the night she placed the order, which was Sunday, February 20.

Ruth claimed she made attempts to track the order but nobody answered her calls.

A day later, she called again, and claims she was told no orders could be taken after 10pm - despite Ruth's own order being accepted.

Soon after that second phone call took place, she claims a delivery driver came to her house and delivered the food at 6pm the day after placing the order.

He allegedly told her he would provide her with a refund by sending a driver with her money, but she said the driver "never showed".

In her public post, Ruth said: "Sangam Balti House, Lostock Hall. Take look at the time and date ordered.

"When did it turn up? 6pm the day after. I was ringing to see where it was the night before but no answer.

"When I rang the day after, the bloke on the phone said no more orders were taken after 10pm. But they were quick enough to take the money straight away.

"Within a couple of minutes a delivery driver was knocking on my door whilst I was still on the phone. 19 hours late. I said how unimpressed I was and he said he'd refund me by sending a driver the day after with my money. Never showed.

"Must have clocked my number and ignoring me. Might pay them a visit when I'm next in Lostock Hall."

Sangam Balti House was contacted for comment by our sister title Lancs Live but did not respond prior to publication.
