Woman orders Smithy's massive curry from Gavin & Stacey and manages to eat all of it

A YouTuber who specialises in Man vs Food challenges has completed the ultimate Gavin & Stacey tribute.

Kate Ovens has posted a video of Smithy's (James Corden) iconic Indian takeaway order, from the second episode of the third series of the hit BBC comedy.

In the show Smithy orders a chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna,  prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, a bag of chips and nine poppadoms - none of it for sharing, of course.

Kate, who scoffed all the curry and side orders in half an hour, ordered the meal - which cost around £30 - and posted the video on Facebook of her doing the challenge on Tuesday evening,  and it's had 92,000 views in under 24 hours.

The eating professional, whose favourite food is pizza, told WalesOnline: "I've had the idea in my head for a couple of years and as the Christmas special is coming out I thought it was a good time to do it. I'm so excited for the Christmas special."

Kate travels across the world and the UK doing eating challenges but she got a lot of her followers excited by teasing the Gavin & Stacey eating challenge on her Instagram.

"I didn't time myself, but I took around half an hour," she added. "It took about 20 minutes to eat the poppadoms, though, they were so dry!

"And I forgot to order the saag aloo, too, so I had to get my friend to order one with her curry afterwards."

The former LadBible presenter wrote her dissertation on food challenge videos and is partial to the odd salad, too. Her next challenge will involve her travelling around the UK trying out what different regions have with their fish and chips.

As Smithy says on the show: "You Welsh and your curry sauce!"
