Woman opens tub of ice-cream and LICKS it before putting it back in shop freezer

A woman has caused outrage after a video of her licking a tub of ice cream and then putting it back in the shop freezer went viral.

Footage shared on Saturday shows the woman tonguing a family-size Blue Bell ice cream at a grocery store, then putting the lid back and placing it back on the shelf.

She laughed as her friend told her to do carry out the gross prank.

The video was shared on Twitter from an account under the handle @@BlindDensetsu who captioned it: "What kinda psychopathic behavior is this?!"

It's not known where the clip was filmed but web users blasted the woman for her wild behaviour.

One user said: "I'm disgusted. This should be a criminal charge."

'TheArsenalMemz' replied: "Disgusting. Should be arrested."

The video has left some users scarred for buying products without safety seal.

'Deshawn' commented: "This is why I make sure the wrap is fully on before I purchase any ice cream from a store. No wrap no purchase. Period."

Another one said: "Blue bell ice cream needs to start using tamper seals. I mean this girl is gross, but that's pretty cheap for blue bell."

The clip has amassed over 10 million views so far and ice cream maker Blue Bell Creameries said they are trying to track down the woman.

The Texas company was alerted of the incident and said "this type of incident will not be tolerated".

They released a statement, reading: "We take this issue very seriously and are currently working with law enforcement, retail partners and social media platforms. This type of incident will not be tolerated.

"Food safety is a top priority, and we work hard to provide a safe product and maintain the highest level of confidence from our consumers.

"During production, our half gallons are flipped upside down and sent to a hardening room where the ice cream freezes to the lid creating a natural seal. The lids are frozen tightly to the carton. Any attempt at opening the product should be noticeable."

The company said to continue monitor the situation.
