A desperate woman is looking for someone to accompany her "needy" mother-in-law to a wedding.
The anonymous woman from Hudson Valley, New York, put out an advert on Craiglist for someone to attend a rehearsal dinner and wedding with her 51-year-old mother-in-law - and was even offering $1,000, £700 for the job.
The ad reads: "I’m looking for a wedding date for my mother-in-law from Friday evening to Saturday evening for a wedding in Hudson Valley in August.
"She needs constant attention and supervision. She will probably wear white and try to escalate small dramas - your job is simply to distract and de-escalate.

"Flatter her for two days and make an easy $1,000."
The ideal candidate would be a man aged between 40 and 60, a good dancer, and a conversationalist.
They must also have "experience with narcissists" and be "able to give her your undivided attention".
As well as being paid £700, the woman will provide a separate hotel room, food and travel expenses - she just asks for interested parties to send a photo and a list of their interests and qualifications.
The ad has since been shared on Reddit where people were divided over the idea.
While some found it "brilliant" and were quick to recommend someone they knew for the job, others thought it was "tacky".
One person said: "When I read it, I immediately thought of my husband. He is amazing at de-escalating situations and he would be fantastic at this. He deals with my crazy mom all the time for free."
Another added: "It's a brilliant idea."
A third user wrote: "This. Tacky, but that’s ok sometimes. And it’s a pretty fair deal; they’re paying and covering food and travel. It’s about as tasteful as something like this could be."
While someone else revealed that a colleague of their had the job, as a bridesmaid, to manage the bride's aunt at a friend's wedding.
They explained: "Any voice raising, crying, drama, tacky conversations - she was there to avoid the aunt running the wedding. Yes, she would have liked to enjoy the wedding, but she preferred as a bridesmaid to be treated to help the bride with the issue. Three hours she spent keeping an eye on this lady, including walking her into other rooms to de-escalate stuff and shut in the toilets for 20 solid minutes while she fake-cried."
