A woman nearly crashed into police officers on the M60 after her husband was caught drink driving.
A Mercedes came to the attention of the police after crashing into the central barrier on the M60 on Monday afternoon.
After speaking with the driver, officers conducted a roadside test and he gave a reading of 125 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
The legal driving limit is 35mg.
Shortly after, the driver’s wife arrived, having driven through a closed motorway lane indicated by a red ‘x’ sign and ‘fishtailing’ towards the officers.
She narrowly avoided seriously injuring those at the scene, police have said.
A picture of the scratched up Mercedes was posted on Twitter by the North West Motorway Police earlier today (April 26).
Alongside the photo, they said: “Vehicle crashed into central barrier on M60. Driver gave roadside reading of 125! Arrested by ME41.
“Driver's wife arrived at scene having breached red X's skidding and fish tailing towards police vehicle, narrowly avoided seriously injuring officers and Highways patrols.”
