A woman has absolutely nailed the one thing you'll only know if you went to primary school in Wales. Jessica Thomas who has nearly 77,000 followers on the social media platform, shared what it was like to go to a school in Wales.
In one video, titled 'Things that will only make sense if you went to a primary school in Wales' Jessica demonstrates what would usually happen first thing in the morning during registration, or cofrestru as some of us called it. During the short video, the TikTokker imitates her teacher listing the names of her pupils in class, including 'Jessica'.
Jessica answers with a 'here', but in response her teacher brings her glasses down to the tip of her nose and in a rather annoyed manner repeats her name again.

The pupil answers: "Sorry, Miss - yma". Of course, many of us that did go to primary school in Wales know that 'yma' means 'here' in Welsh and was often used as a response for when our names were called out during cofrestru. It turns out that many users on TikTok could relate to this experience, as the video has so far garnered over 58,000 likes and over 2,500 comments.
One, Seren Roberts, pointed out the other Welsh terms that were commonly used in the classroom, such as "bore da, Miss", "bore da, pawb" and "sut wyt ti heddiw?". Another user called farlie.agility said: "I still have to say that in secondary school".
Dylan joked: "But then the kid with the same name says it as well". Kirsten Long responded with: "I remember changing schools and said the Welsh one and they all laughed at me cause it wasn’t a very Welsh-speaking school".
Jonah / Leslie recalled: "And when its time to like register what you had for food its always the "wyt ti'n cael cinio neu bocs?"".
