Woman marries her stepbrother after mum gives them her blessing

A 23-year-old woman who married her stepbrother says they are "100% a match made in heaven". Matilda Eriksson became step-siblings with Samuli, 27, after her mum tied the knot with his dad in 2019.

However, when pair met for the first time at her mum's 50th party, they were immediately attracted to one another. Matilda told Yahoo News : "I responded right away with passion. It took us two weeks to start dating after that and he basically moved in with me right away. It felt good and natural immediately."

She says that some of her friends were initially uncomfortable with the match, but that her mum really helped "get her thoughts in order", the Daily Star reports.

Matilda added: "Some of our friends were first a bit doubtful and [were] kind of judging. I think it was because of the confusion that someone I called stepbrother has to now be called my boyfriend."

"My mum told me to do whatever I felt was the most right in that moment, putting everything else aside and to follow my heart, and that led me to marry Samuli. We both have been in a few long relationships before but never felt like this with anyone."

Matilda even thinks her and Samuli's parents secretly wanted them to get together. When the relationship got more serious and the question of marriage came up, she took to Google to see if there were any legal implications that might come up.

"First we found some false, old information that it would be illegal, but gladly one of my sister's closest friends is a law student and told us it wouldn't be a problem if we wanted to get married," she claimed.

And when it came to the proposal, Matilda said they both popped the question at the same time. Matilda said: "We are 100% a match made in heaven".

The couple are now happily married and have talked about having children, but are in no rush to start a family just yet.
