A post about Scottish to English money exchange rate in a North Coast 500 Facebook group caused a bit of a stramash – with people unsure whether the person was being serious or not.
What turned out to be a joke saw people flocking to comment from the NC500 group with the post sparking everything from funny comebacks and quips to outright derision.
As always, jokes about Scottish notes being "legal tender" weren't far behind.
The post read: "What's the best exchange rate people are getting when changing [English pounds] to [Scottish pounds]?
"We're setting off tomorrow, should I change when I arrive or before we leave."

People quickly questioned whether it was a joke, with one person asking if it was a "late April Fools".
While another joked: "Don't forget your passport."
The original poster was offered a Scottish £10 note for 3 English fivers, while another quipped: "If you slip the border guards £20 (English), they'll swap you Scottish £10s for English £20s."
Some people took the post seriously, with one helpful person even offering a genuine response: "This isn't an issue. There is no exchange rate. What you refer to as English money will be accepted in Scotland and there is no exchange rate."
The original poster quickly realised their attempt at a joke had not been well received and moved to explain that it was in fact meant to be humorous in nature – offering apologies for the confusion.
