Woman makes desperate plea to Dublin taxi drivers after accidentally leaving drum kit in boot

A Dublin woman has made a desperate call to the Dublin cab-driver communitiy to help her find the kit she left in the boot of a taxi in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Denise Joy told Dublin Live she and two pals hailed a cab from the bottom of O’Connell St near Parnell St around 2:20am this morning after playing in a nearby pub.

The girlfriend of the talented drummer Laurence for punk band 'Four Man Dead', who had just finished a gig at Fibber Magee's, said she, her partner and a male friend first went to Chapelizod before heading home to Blanchardstown.

She had put the cymbal and snare drum in the boot of the cab when they left town, but they forgot about it by the time that got home to Blanch.

Now Denise is hoping that Dublin’s tight community of taxi drivers can spread the word so she can be reunited with her precious instruments. She said: “In the boot was a green army bag, with stands a round cymbal bag with ‘Millennium’ written on it, and a black hard case with the snare drum in it.

“I have no way of contacting the taxi driver and really, really need help getting them back.”

Denise described her tax man as a very friendly, middle-aged black man who wore glasses. She added that he had told her he would be working until 6am.

She appealed to the city’s cab drivers and their pals: “Please help get the word out there. Hopefully taxi drivers can spread it on their radios and I’ll get my drums back.

"Because he was on the night shift, we're hoping that it is just a matter of him not checking his car yet.

"But if we get the word out there, hopefully he may check the boot."
