Woman looking at £700-a-month flat told she'd have to SHARE bed with 'landlady'

A woman who went to a viewing of a £700-a-month flat was left horrified by a shocking catch.

Kate, known only by her first name, arranged a viewing of a double room in the hope her and her boyfriend could move in.

After arriving at the Clonskeagh property, in Dublin, Kate said she was met by a woman who claimed to be the landlord, before being shown to the room.

The woman then revealed she would have to share a bed with her, pulling back the duvet to describe which half would be hers.

Kate, speaking to 98FM said: "I went to see on my own, which was my first mistake, it was a double room which was advertised as a double. It was out in Clonskeagh.

Sky News anchor apologises after moaning about her tenants in eviction interview

"I met the landlady, I don't believe she owned the property, then I went to meet the person who was advertising the double room.

"She showed me all around the house then showed me the double.

"Seemed OK, the place was falling apart, but we were desperate.

"Then she pulled back the duvet of the bed and said 'this will be your half of the bed, it'll be your side', and that was a double room advertised for €800.

"Then there were overhead wardrobes built in and she had cleared out half for me.

"She was going to be in the other half with a total stranger.

"I couldn't believe it. I was completely and utterly floored."

When asked, the woman showing her the room told her it must have been a "miscommunication" after Kate explained she was looking with her partner.

"I was one of several people who commented on her Facebook and made contact for a viewing, so she more than likely filled it."
