A cancer sufferer will receive life-saving treatment while behind bars after she was jailed for raiding a house.
Kerry Tomlin targeted a property in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, in August and made off with a number of items including an iPad and hair straighteners.
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Tomlin entered the home after finding the backdoor unlocked.
She also swiped took games console controllers and WiFi dongles from the property’s living room.
The female householder, who was in her bedroom, heard a noise and contacted police.

And when officers arrived at the scene they found Tomlin, of Kilmarnock, hiding in a neighbour's back garden.
They found a bag containing the stolen items nearby. Tomlin tried to blame a man who was not named in court.
But yesterday 39-year-old admitted her guilt.
The court heard the man she tried to blame was actually in jail serving a prison term of his own at the time.
The court also heard that Tomlin, who appeared via video link from prison, is suffering from cervical cancer and that arrangements are being made for her treatment.
Sheriff Alistair Watson said: "I want a letter from the governor to inform me what measures are in place for her treatment."
Tomlin said: "I'm working with people outside, trying to get the operation organised."
The sheriff then called for background reports to be prepared ahead of sentencing and adjourned the case until later this month for that to be done.
Tomlin was remanded in custody.
