Woman livestreams alleged assault by radio 'shock jock' Anthony Cumina

A woman appears to have livestreamed the aftermath of her alleged assault at the hands of American 'shock jock' Anthony Cumina.

The woman, identified as Danielle Brand, 26, used the streaming app Periscope to document her swollen hand and two other bruises on her body while in Cumina's house in Roslyn Heights.

"Hi, I'm in Long Island. I got my hand broken. I'm waiting for the police to come," she says in the video.

Brand then appears to be hit in the face and the image goes blurry. "Oh my God," she says, "Don't hit me again."

Cumina, 54, was later arrested on assault charges.

Prosecutors alleged Cumina "stomped" on Brand's hand, strangled her and pushed her up against a wall after an argument.

Brand is described as Cumina's girlfriend.

Cumina, who faces trial in the New Year, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Entertainment website TMZ later quoted Cumina's lawyer as saying: "Things are not always what they appear to be and this is a perfect example of that."

Last year Cumina was fired from the radio talk show The Opie and Anthony Show, which he co-hosted with Gregg 'Opie' Hughes, after what was termed a "racially charged" rant on Twitter.

Cumina sent the series of tweets, some of them profane, after he was allegedly assaulted by a black woman in Times Square.
