Woman left with serious injuries after incident at A52 bridge

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after police were called to the A52 following concerns for her safety.

The road near to Queen's Medical Centre was closed on Monday night (February 3) from 7.25pm in both directions around the Ningbo Friendship Bridge.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was reopened at around 10.15pm.

The incident caused 'significant delays' to traffic.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area while the police were at the scene and trams could also not serve stops due to the incident.

There was also bus delays, with the Orange 34 bus using stops on East Drive in University Park or the QMC main entrance to pick up passengers.

Police said the woman is now in hospital with 'serious injuries.'
