Woman left with serious injuries after being thrown into a hedge by a car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was hit by a car leaving her with serious injuries

Officers said a 56-year-old woman was hit by a silver or grey-coloured car which mounted the pavement in Gibbet Hill Lane in Scrooby in a "fail-to-stop collision".

The woman, who was thrown into a hedge following the crash, was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

The incident happened at around 6.45am on Sunday, August 23 outside the Riverside Fishery.

Sergeant Mark Lee, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a very serious incident and we urgently need to speak with the driver involved.

"Our investigations are ongoing and I would urge the driver to contact us as soon as possible.

"I am also appealing to anyone who was travelling along Gibbet Hill Lane at the relevant time and witnessed the collision to please come forward and I’m urging any motorists who captured any dashcam footage of the incident to please contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 164 of 23 August 2020.
