Woman left with facial injuries after attack by man on Scots road

Cops are hunting a man who left a woman with facial injuries after attacking her on a Scots road.

The disturbing incident happened on Sannox View, Ayr, at between 6.30pm and 7pm on Sunday, 19 December, 2021.

The 33-year-old woman was attacked by a man who approached her from behind at the steps at Sannox View leading to Main Road.

She was left with injuries to her face after the assault but did not require medical attention at the time.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing a black jacket, with brown shoes.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward following the incident.

PC David Murdoch said: "At this time we believe that this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the wider public.

"The area where the attack took place is residential and I am sure that someone will have either seen or heard something which will assist our enquiry.

"If you have any information that may help, then please call officers at Ayr Police Station via 101, quoting reference number 2487 of Sunday, 20 December, 2021.

"Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
