Woman left terrified to let dog out after capturing 'big cat' prowling her garden

This is the moment a woman caught a "big cat" prowling in her garden on CCTV.

The woman, who doesn't want to be named, is terrified of letting her dog out at night after spotting the large creature on her fence at her home in Lanarkshire.

The four-legged animal is seen sitting on the three-foot fence at about 4am, the Daily Record reports.

This is not the first time someone has reported a big cat sighting.

The woman told the Daily Record that she went to numerous authorities with the footage.

She said: "It was around 3.55am on Saturday morning and was recorded on the camera on the doorbell.

"I phoned the police and they told me to contact the SSPCA who told me to contact Big Cat Sightings and they have phoned me back and said that it was a big cat- an adult Puma.

"I was in the house and my husband phoned me to say 'did you see that big thing out our front doorstep last night'.

"I said 'it must be a fox' but he went 'look at the size of it!' so then I thought yes it was absolutely massive."

The woman added that the animal had disturbed the garden and she now fears for neighbourhood pets.

She said: "All the neighbour's garden has been disturbed with it.

"You can see where it has clawed the weeds away in the neighbour's garden. I don't know if it's after a wee mouse or something.

"I've got a wee dog so I'm scared to let it out at night or anything incase the cat is still about.

"I wouldn't want to be coming home from the dancing some Saturday night and be faced with that!"

Earlier this year, a couple claimed to have captured what could be the clearest footage yet of the so-called Beast of Exmoor as a 'big cat the size of an alsatian' was seen stalking the English countryside.

Lisa Deere and her fiancé Nathan Deere spotted the large black animal running across a field outside of Yeovil, Somerset.

The 32-year-old claims she was so stunned by the sighting she was forced to do a 'double take'.

She said the size of the creature meant she ruled out it being a fox or a domestic cat, which she claims would have been covered by the '10 inch' grass.

Footage of their 'unexpected' sighting shows a four-legged animal stalking across a field, stopping to listen and look around before disappearing into the distance.
