In the video, she says: "So don't mind me shaking because I'm still processing what just happened to me, but I just need to show you, there are no words.

"I met a dog today who was wearing the same sweater as me. In what world does this happen? A really good world."

Carmen, who works as an artist and travelling muralist, petted the dog, named Angel, before arranging a meet up with her owner.

She added: "The owner and I are even getting coffee together."

Amazed by the coincidence, users have been commenting on the unlikely encounter, with TikTok followers telling her "that's your soulmate" and that she "officially lives in a Disney Pixar movie".

Another TikTok user remarked: "My dream encounter!"

Market research consultants Million Insights said that the dog clothing industry is expected to reach USD 16.6 billion by 2028.

A Million Insights statement reads: "The growing awareness about pets' health and wellbeing, coupled with the stringent government regulations for better care of animals in many countries is likely to drive the demand for dog accessories.

"The rise in the number of pet ownership and the increase in the availability of a wide range of accessories for dogs for their well-being are expected to remain favourable factors for the industry growth.

"Advancements in the pet clothing and accessories industry, coupled with the wide availability of pet accessories and increasing disposable income in developing countries, have led to increasing pet grooming expenditure.

"All these factors are expected to prompt the market demand over the forecast period."
